DCU - Driver cleaner utility is a simple utility for remove drivers from your computer. Version 1.0 supports nVidia Forceware drivers and Sound Blaster Audigy 1/2/2ZS drivers with EAX4.
How to use:
Always at first you need to uninstall drivers from the control panel and then reboot. After rebooting you can use this program. The first time you run Driver cleaner utility you will see this screen:
Here you need select profile. You can choose from two profiles: for nVidia Forceware drivers and Sound Blaster Audigy 1/2/2ZS drivers with EAX4. Other profiles will be available later at www.nvhardpage.com.
When you choose profile, press Select button. You will see next screen:
Profile is now loaded, press Search files button. This action search for driver files. When finished, you will see this screen:
Under Search files button you can see number of found files and files in back up directories. When you click on file you can see her location and version. Then you can delete this file or you can delete all files (this option delete only driver files, not files in back up directories). If you enable Create backup before delete file option, all deleted files are copied into backup directory. All files from backup can be restored to their original location with Restore selected file button.
How to create user profiles
All profiles have ".dcu" extension. All profiles and .dat files are located in "DCU directorydatacleaner" directory.
Profile consistency (we using nvidia.dcu profile for example): First line:
- first line contains profile description, which is show in INFO block in DCU
- example: "nVidia Forceware driver."
Second line:
- second line is description (which is show on the top of listbox in DCU) of files for first listbox (and for first backup listbox)
- example: "Driver -"
Third line:
- third line is description (which is show on the top of listbox in DCU) of files for second listbox (and for second backup listbox)
- example: "nView -"
- tip: if you dont want use second listbox, use empty line - ""
Fourth line:
- fourth line contains type of searching for first listbox
- example: "List"
- all search types:
- "List": syntax - "Dir-list", where Dir is SYS (system directory), WIN (windows directory) or SYD (sytem drive), list is file with ".dat" extension, which contains list of files for searching in specified directory
- tip - if you need search in subdirectory, you can specify Dir as "Dirsubdirectory-list" - "WinnView-nv.dat"
- "Extension": syntax - "Dir-extension", example - "WINnview-.tvp" - search all files with .tvp extension in directory Windowsnview
- "Directory": syntax - ""WINnview" - search all files in Windowsnview directory
Fifth line:
- fifth line is syntax of searching type for first listbox
- example: fourth line: "List", fifth line: "WinnView-nv.dat"
Sixth line:
- this line contains type of searching for second listbox
Seventh line:
- this line is syntax of searching type for second listbox
Eighth line:
- backup directory for first listbox
- tip: all backup directories are located in "DCU directorydatacleanerbackup"
Ninth line:
- backup directory for second listbox
