nVHardPage is an nVidia videocard tweaker which is also multilanguage for nVidia display adapters running under Windows 98 (SE) / Windows ME / Windows 2000 and Windows XP. With this tweak utility you can enable/disable hidden features in nVidia control panel, change Direct3D and OpenGL settings and overclock your nVidia display adapter. nVHardPage also contains a sophisticated, yet easy to use Performance wizard for easy tweaking, Direct3D test utility and simple driver cleaner.
How can I install nVHardPage SE?:
You can download two package versions of nVHardPage: self-extracting exe file and compressed zip archive. In the first case run the exe file to begin extracting the nVHardPage files into specified directories and in the second case, unzip all files from archive. No other actions are requied, you can run nVHardPage.
How can I uninstall nVHardPage SE?:
nVHardPage SE is without an installer, so you don't need uninstall it. You can just delete nVHardPage SE directory safe.
Files and description:

Control panel settings and tools
- Control panel settings - you can enable / disable hidden features in nVidia control panel settings like overclocking, refresh rate settings, AGP options ...
- Resolution settings - very easy way to change resolution and refresh rate
- Display properties - run system display properties
- nVidia overlay applet - run nVidia overlay applet tab
- nVidia TV applet - run nVidia TV applet tab
- Registry editor - you can edit many hidden settings for nvidia control panel, Direct3D and OpenGL
- Profile manager - create and execute your own profiles for each games and applications
DirectX settings
- Antialiasing settings - adjust antialiasing level (removed jagged lines)
- Texture filtering settings - control anisotropic filtering, level of detail bias, intellisample setting and optimizations
- Miscellanous settings - vertical synchronization and compatibility settings
- Multitexturing settings - control multitexturing setting
- Shaders settings - control Pixel and Vertex shaders settings
OpenGL settings
- Antialiasing settings - adjust antialiasing level (removed jagged lines)
- Texture filtering settings - control anisotropic filtering, level of detail bias and intellisample settings
- Miscellanous settings - vertical synchronization and texture compression settings
- Compatibility settings - compatibility and emulation settings
System informations
- Basic informations - informations about VGA device, CPU and OS
- DirectX informations - detailed information about DirectX
- System monitoring - monitoring CPU usage and free physics memory
You can show / hide many pages in nVidia control panel:
- Coolbits - overclocking tab
- AGP settings page - view and change settings for AGP port communication
- Additional info page - additional infos about your VGA adapter and physics memory
- Troubleshooting page - debug error events
- Application profile page - adjust global settings or for selected application
- Direct3D refresh rate page - adjust refresh rate of your monitor for selected resolutions for Direct3D games
- Override nView capable - override nView capability
- Overlay control in span mode - control hardware overlay support
With the built-in registry editor you can adjust many settings for the nVidia control panel, Direct3D and OpenGL.
Registry keys are in three categories:
- Direct3D
- OpenGL
- System / control panel
When you select a key, a short description is show in Key description frame. After that you can select from Available values or you can edit your own value. When you finish, press the Write key button to write selected key with the selected value or you can delete selected key with the Delete key button.
With Profile manager you can create your own profiles with different Direct3D and OpenGL settings. You can add associated applications - so after loading Direct3D and OpenGL settings nVHardPage SE automatically runs this application. You can load a profile in the nVHardPage SE profile manager window, and with adoubleclick on profile file (with extension *.nsp). Overclocking is set before running application.
Antialiasing settings:
You can adjust here the antialiasing level (removed jagged lines). Two pictures with zoom function are for comparison.
Texture filtering settings:
Here are the controls for anisotropic filtering, level of detail bias, mipmap filtering, intellisample setting and optimizations. This settings can improve image quailty extremely, but at the cost speed. For more details, enable Help system in nVHardPage SE.
Miscellanous settings:
- Vertical synchronization - by enabling, remove image interference or horizontal banding effect caused by fast movements, but can decrease performace
- Compatibility settings - Z-buffer compression and fog-table emulation are for compatibility problems, and can in some cases decrease performance
Multitexturing settings:
Adjust maximum simultaneous textures rendered in single pass.
Shaders settings:
Control Pixel and Vertex shaders version override. Lower versions produce lower image quality, but can improve compatibility.
Antialiasing settings:
You can adjust here antialiasing level (removed jagged lines). Texture sharpening remove blurry effect from textures.
Texture filtering settings:
Here are the controls for anisotropic filtering, level of detail bias, mipmap filtering, intellisample setting and intellisample manual configuration. These settings can improve image quailty extremely, but cost a small amount of speed. For more details, enable Help system in nVHardPage SE.
Miscellanous settings:
- Vertical synchronization - by enabling, remove image interference or horizontal banding effect caused by fast movements, but can decrease performace
- S3TC settings - S3 texture compression settings improve speed, but can decrease quality
- Textures color depth - set default color depth for rendering
Compatibility settings:
Here you can override OpenGL version support, force software renderer and enable emulation mode.
Overclocking can have a great impact on overall performance, but you must be very carefull with adjusting core and memory speed. You can set automatic overclocking after the system restarts. If in this case system can not start properly, you can bypass automatic overclocking by pressing CTRL key during startup.
Performance wizard is an easy way for simple performance adjustment. You can select from pre-defined optimizations and finaly fine adjust basic settings.
Driver cleaner utility:
Driver cleaner can find and delete all driver files which are still present in system after uninstalling drivers.
Speed profile:
Speed profile utility adds easy access to all profiles from your desktop.
Auto update:
This utility can download all relevant updates for nVHardPage SE. Please close nVHardPage SE and other nVHardPage utilities before running this application.
Direct3D test utility:
With this utility you can test your graphic card in Direct3D API and collect informations about it.
